Amber Gardiner 19 Years old.
Dutch are my favorite breed. I got started in to rabbits
at our local county fair. I saw the Californian rabbits being shown there. That was the summer of 1998. I was only 7 years
old. We bought my first rabbit Rose. She was a californian rabbit. Later that same year we bought my Buddy also a californian.
I showed them in the fair the following year. I had
a hard time carring them to the table because they were so big. Showmanship was hard too as I was small and they were big.
Mom (Cindy) saw her first mini rex rabbits at that fair. I bought Sugar my mix breed a very sweet bunny.
Well mom went on a search and found 2 mini rex rabbits
forsale in Traverse City at Wanta-Be-Rabbitry. These rabbits belonged to the family so we all could show them. These we our
first pedigree rabbits. Amaya a broken black doe and Biddy a black buck. We went to our first ARBA rabbit show in 1999. We
really did not know what was going on and tried to watch a little. We ask a lot of question and we got two more mini rex.
Black Velvet and Ruby. We showed at our first show fall of 1999 Whitetail RBA. We showed our mini rex and got our first ribbons.
We were hooked. We bred Pheobe to Biddy and had our first litter of Mini rex in 1999.
In the summer of 2000 we went to the Western Michigan RBA
show in Greenville. Mom said I could pick my own breed. I saw a dutch. I told mom this is the breed I want. We bought my first
dutch Bruhmuller's Sparkalee from Carrie. That was the start of my dutch rabbits.
We now show at ARBA shows in Michigan and some of the 4-H shows.
I am a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association.
I now have Grand Champion Dutch (see them on my dutch page). I also raise english lops.
I have a lot of pet birds silver and gold Seabrite Bantams, and Cochins chickens.
I have Indian Runner ducks also a few Call ducks.
I also have horse named Spirit and a beagle named Luke. I own two dairy goats Summer and
Kau.
I love to go to rabbit shows and the fair. I am very involved in my church.
